STATEHOUSE - While some new Indiana laws from this past session have already gone into effect, the majority just went into effect July 1. It is important that everyone know what changes our state is making, which is why this will be part one of a four-part series of columns discussing new Indiana laws.
It was a busy time at Pekin Park during the afternoon of July 4. After the parade winded down, guests poured into the park’s outdoor shelter to watch several performances and competitions take place at the park’s stage area. And though the brutal heat forced the bouncy houses across the way to shut down hours early, the rising temperatures couldn’t slow down the energy that Pekin’s local youth and entertainers were demonstrating on stage.
Departments making progress, improvements in Salem
Salem’s City Council met for their monthly meeting on June 11, and there was almost nothing but good news to be heard in the council chambers that evening. Many local programs and projects are beginning to take shape and the city is beginning to see progress unfold in several areas.
