A Pekin woman died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday night as a result of a one-car accident.
Beverly Nicole Sneed, 32, of Pekin, was driving west on State Road 60 at Smedley Road in a 2001 Oldsmobile passanger car when she drove off the north side of the roadway.

Friday Night on the Square, Sept.19th, kicks off the season.  This is a unique event, planned from 6-10 pm, around the Salem Square.  Traffic will be closed to the Square, to allow for vendors and businesses to show case their product and services.  Pedestrians will be allowed to walk around the historic Square.  This event has become a place for people to meet up with family and friends.

Eastern volleyball team losses to Salem, beats WW falls to C’ville and Providence PDF Print E-mail

The Eastern High School volleyball team split a pair of games in the Washington County tournament held on Aug. 23 Washington County Classic.

They followed that tournament up with two losses this week. They lost on Tuesday to Clarksville and on Wednesday to Providence.
