“I have been a police officer for 12 years but now I think this is truly what I was suppose to do,” stated Charlestown Police Patrolman Tim Wolff. “I love it, I love developing relationships with the kids and I love coming to work! I love hearing the kids’ stories and learning about the kids, learning about their future and what they want to do.”

The City of Charlestown Christmas Parade will light the night as part of the exciting plans for Christmas in Charlestown 2013. Organizers are expecting lots of families from the community and surrounding communities to visit Charlestown “The Christmas City” this holiday season.
Fundraiser set Saturday... Community coming together to help local fire fighter
The New Washington Volunteer Fire Department, Auxiliary, and some members of the community are organizing a bean/potato soup supper benefit on November 23 from 4 p.m. until the food runs out, along with a silent basket auction from 4 to 7 p.m. with all proceeds going to help fellow firefighter Daniel Stoner cover the cost of medical bills and expenses. A live auction, with Auctioneer John Uhl volunteering his service, will also be held at 7 p.m. following the announcement of the silent basket auction winners.
Pirates fall at Brownstown Central in Sectional Championship

The Pirates of Charlestown traveled to Brownstown Central last Friday night to defend their 2012 Sectional Championship. Charlestown was also out to avenge an earlier season loss to the Braves, 40-26, in week two of the regular season on August 30.
