A local woman has been given a great opportunity for a year long journey that will allow for both personal and professional growth and development. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will be a great adventure for Connie Keith, the Executive Director for the Clark County Youth Coalition and the Coordinator for the Floyd County ATOD Task Force. (The two are combined for the Local Coordinating Council, Governor’s Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana).

Clark County farmer wins $2,500 for 4?H through America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM Program PDF Print E-mail

Ken Yeager of New Washington has been selected as a winner in the America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM program, which gave farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. The Monsanto Fund sponsors the program, and winning farmers designate a local nonprofit organization to benefit from the donations. Yeager has designated Clark County 4?H, located in Charlestown to receive the donation.

The Lady Dragons of Silver Creek traveled almost 100 miles down I-64 to Dubois County for a match up with the Class 3A No. 1 Lady Tigers of Evansville Memorial Saturday during the second game of the morning session at the Jasper Regional. The team was trying to bring a Regional title back to Sellersburg for the first time in school history. The last time Silver Creek played in Regional competition the seniors on this year’s squad were just toddlers at the early ages of three and four years old.

In early January as everyone was trying to get back into their regular routine, one local student was preparing for an opportunity to do what he loves to do and what he has a clear passion for.
Colt Barker, a junior at Charlestown High School, was preparing his sermon to preach during the 2011 National Festival of Young Preachers. The unique festival brings young students from across the country with a passion about ministry together for three days to learn from each other, inspire each other and grow their faith together
