Charlestown advances to Sectional Championship with 49-6 win over Corydon Central PDF Print E-mail

The weather did not cooperate with the Sectional Semi-Final games across Southern Indiana last Friday night. The rain made it's way into the area and hung around making for a sloppy field in The Boneyard. The Pirates had no problems in the conditions as they scored on seven of their first eight possessions in the first half. Charlestown had little trouble with the visiting Panthers of Corydon Central. The Pirates took the 49-6 win to advance to this Friday night's Sectional 23 Championship. The 11-0 Pirates of Charlestown will travel to Brownstown Central (10-1) for a 7 p.m. kick -off. The Braves' only loss (41-3) on the season came at the hands of the Pirates during week 2.

Pirate Football Regional time set, Coach Hawkins, players to be guests on radio show PDF Print E-mail

The Charlestown High School Pirate Football team (12-0) will host the Titans of Gibson Southern High School (10-2) this Friday, November at Dutch Reis Field in The Bone Yard of Charlestown High School. Kick-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. (local time) and game tickets are $7 each.

Silver Creek faithful were able to help make history for the football team last Friday night. The Dragons hosted their first Senior Night since the 1940’s. Silver Creek honored 11 senior football players before the match up with Crawford County.
