The YMCA of Southern Indiana welcomes the public of all ages??members and non?members??to a variety of activities and programs at both the Clark County Branch located at 4812 Hamburg Pike in Jeffersonville or Floyd County Branch located at 33 State Street in New Albany. Clark County Branch
*Mondays (7:30?10 a.m.) Ping pong/open play??singles or doubles. Free.
*Mondays (12 noon?3 p.m.) Mexican Train Dominos. Members: Free. Non?members: $1.
*Mondays (after school–6 p.m.) DIAMONDETTES outreach for girls ages 7?12. Free. Transportation is provided from school to program and home again.
*Tuesdays and Fridays(12:30?3 p.m.) Bridge. Members: $1. Non?members: $3.
*Tuesdays (6–6:30 p.m.) Y?Weight meetings including nutrition information and support for reaching weight management goals. Free for Y members.
*Wednesdays (9 a.m.?12 noon) Oil painting classes for ages 18 and up and all skill levels. Members: $80. Non?members: $90.
*Thursdays (7:45?8:45 a.m.) Weekly Bible study. Free.
*Tuesdays, May 3?24 (5:45?6:30 p.m.) Cooking & Booking classes covering basic kitchen safety and story time for ages 5?11; Wednesdays, May 4?25 (11:45 a.m.?12:30 p.m.) for ages 2?5.
*Wednesdays, May 4?25 (1?1:30 p.m.) and Thursdays, May 5?26 (6?6:30 p.m.) Wee Dance for ages 4 and younger with an adult 18 and older. Cost: $25 per session or $45 when combined with Wee Art. (See next item.)
*Thursdays, May 5?26 (5:30?6 p.m. and Fridays, May 6?27 (10?10:30 a.m.) Wee Art for ages 4 and younger with an adult 18 and older. Cost: $25 per session or $45 when combined with Wee Dance. (See item above.)
*Friday, May 6 (8?11 p.m.) Teen Night for ages 10?16. Members: Free. Non?members: $5.
*Saturdays, May 7?28 (10?11 a.m.) Young Rembrandts Art Class for ages 6?12. Cost: $45. Register at youngrembrandts.com/metrolouisville.
*Saturday, May 14 (6?10 p.m.) Parents Night Out for ages newborn to 10. Members: $15. Non?members: $20.
*Thursday, May 19 (11 a.m.?5 p.m.) Senior trip to Churchill Downs and lunch on Millionaires Row. Members: $35. Non?members: $40. Cost includes transportation, admission, and lunch.
*Friday, May 20 (8?11 p.m.) “School’s Out Bash” Teen Night for ages 10?16. Members: Free. Non?members: $5.
*Wednesday, May 25 (10 a.m.?3 p.m.) Senior trip to Stream Cliff Farms in Commisky, Indiana. Members: $30. Non?members: $35. Cost includes transportation and lunch.

Greater Clark County Schools and the City of Charlestown held a press conference on Tuesday, April 26 to discuss the measurable benefits of the partnership between Greater Clark County Schools and the City of Charlestown, its effect on Charlestown High School students, and to announce Adult Education technology classes that will be offered to community.

State Sen. Jim Smith (R?Charlestown) presented a resolution recently honoring a Clark County resident, educator, attorney and public servant. All of those titles fit former State Rep. Elmer Hoehn, the oldest living former member of the Indiana House of Representatives.
