Pre-registration is now taking place for the 16th Annual Charlestown Founders Day 5K Run scheduled for Saturday, June 25.   This event is co-sponsored by ANYTIME FITNESS/Charlestown www.anytimefitness.com and Pacers & Racers Running Store/New Albany www.pacersandracers.com and held in conjunction with Charlestown’s  208th   Birthday  Celebration.  This years’ run will again be a road race through historic Charlestown.

Clark Memorial Hospital will host a community health fair on Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The popular annual car show will be hosted by the Wild-side Mustangs and located in the parking lot directly across from the main entrance of the hospital. Over 50 vendor booths, lots of health screenings and activities will be located at the hospital’s main entrance, the main lobby and the lower level. Register to win one of three $200 gift cards. Increase your chance to win by registering at the main lobby desk, completing a Health Passport card (cards will be given at the registration desk) and visiting the Relaxation Lounge.

Charlestown officials unveil 20-year Comprehensive Plan PDF Print E-mail
Driving around the city square in Charlestown Tuesday evening, May 24, citizens could tell something was a buzz in Charlestown City Hall. Walking into the Charlestown City Council Meeting Room, one could quickly see this was not a council meeting night as the room was filled with boards describing in detail the future of the city. Charlestown Mayor Bob Hall was welcoming citizens in front of the room as he also took the time to discuss the 20 year Comprehensive Plan for the City of Charlestown.

Suspect wanted by CPD apprehended, stolen vehicle located PDF Print E-mail

Last week, Charlestown Police Chief Keith McDonald and officers of the Charlestown Police Department asked for the public’s help to locate a suspect. The suspect, Fred L. Benevides, was suspected of violating an active protective order. While eluding police Benevides allegedly stole a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 truck.
