Greater Clark students return to school, changes in curriculum, payment options announced PDF Print E-mail

On Thursday, August 18, Greater Clark County Schools welcomed back approximately 10,800 students for the 2011-2012 school year. Approximately 1,450 faculty and staff returned as well, including 35 new teachers (seven elementary, seven middle school, 16 high school, and five in Administration, such as school psychologists). Elementary schools begin from 8:45 a.m. to 8:55 a.m., middle schools at 8:15 a.m., and high schools from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stephen Daeschner welcomed students at Parkwood Elementary School beginning on their first day.

2011 Fall Cheer Clinic to be held by SCHS cheerleaders PDF Print E-mail

Silver Creek High School cheerleaders have announced plans for their 2011 Fall Cheer Clinic will be held.
The Fall Cheer Clinic date will be Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Silver Creek High School Gymnasium. The Cheer With Us date will be Friday, September 16 during the Silver Creek vs Charlestown Varsity Football game. Arrival time will be 6:30 p.m. and participants will cheer during the first half of the ballgame.

Dragons begin new era in football history at Springs Valley PDF Print E-mail

The Silver Creek varsity football Dragons and head coach Mike Donahue took a huge step in the history of the grid iron last Friday night as they took the football field at Springs Valley High School. The game began a new era in Silver Creek football as the Dragons played in the first game of a full varsity season on the grid iron since 1942. The team never gave up and got a taste of what varsity football in southern Indiana is all about. Silver Creek fell to the home-standing Blackhawks 38-21. The Dragons accepted a challenge from Donahue and outscored Springs Valley 21-13 in the second half of the contest.
