Charlestown Postal workers will help Stamp Out Hunger Saturday PDF Print E-mail

The Charlestown Post Office will participate in the National Letter Carriers Association’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The food drive will be held this Saturday, May 11. The workers are encouraging the local community to participate in the food drive by bringing non-perishable items to the post office or by leaving a donation at your mailbox. Citizens wishing to participate who live on rural routes are asked to put their donation inside their mailboxes while citizens who resident in town are asked to put their donations next to the mailbox. If you would like to drop off your donation you may drop it off through next week during regular post office hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

The Miss Clark County 4-H Fair Queen Pageant is now accepting applications. Any Clark County young woman ages 16-20 is eligible to participate. She must be an active member of at least one worthwhile organization in the community and must be sponsored by a Clark County business and/or organization.

Backyard Classics Car Club announcing cruise-ins, annual car show PDF Print E-mail

The Backyard Classics Car Club is a Charlestown non-profit organization that donates its proceeds to the local VFW Post 1427 and the Crusades for Children. The club was established 17 years ago to bring together classics car enthusiasts and promote the preservation of classic cars, trucks, motorcycles and muscle cars. Beginning the second Friday (6 to 9 p.m.) from April through October, the club has a cruse-in on the Charlestown square.

Charlestown Pirate Football stand out Aaron Daniel was  admitted by Indiana University on Monday, April 8, and plans to accept a preferred walk-on opportunity to play IU Football this fall.
