The woman whose actions apparently caused a disastrous double-fatality accident last December on Interstate 65 has now died in a vehicle accident in Clark County.
Jennifer Pauline Just, 35, had reportedly just agreed to a plea bargain with the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office in which she would be sentenced to eight years in jail for her part in the December 13, 2009, mishap that killed an elderly Austin couple.

Robert “Bobby” Petty sat alone on Thursday morning, September 30, at the defendant’s table in Scott Circuit Court.
With his manacled hands resting on the table, Petty quietly responded when requested as Judge Roger Duvall took him through the formalities of the court hearing at which Petty was charged with the murder of his ex-wife, Nina Rae Keown.

In high school, oftentimes you have friends, and hang out together at a local restaurant or else at each other’s houses, but you don’t necessarily play on a varsity athletic team with them. Often, the sports teams can be competitive within the ranks.
But in the case of the Floyd Central boys’ tennis team, they have four seniors, and they not only are good friends with each other, they enjoy spending time bonding with the freshmen players and helping them along.

“Tribute to Armed Forces”, featuring the U.S. Marine Silent Drill Platoon will perform Sunday, October 10, at 2 PM in Scottsburg, In.   This is a “back by demand” performance, since the Platoon has mesmerized spectators for the last 7 years.   “it is a winning situation for everyone,”  commented Don Cooper, President of the Scott County Visitors Commission.   A couple of the Marines have family members in the area, and over the years, many of the others have become close to their host families.  The hosts have become quite adept at providing the Marines a home away from home.  “We just appreciate them so much, what they do for their country, and certainly for their incredible performances,” according to Suzanne Berry, mother of Martin Wimp former  Platoon members.  This will be their 8th appearance In Scottsburg.

Officers with the Scott County Sheriff''s Department were busy investigating vehicular accidents over a recent 11-day stretch.

The series of seven accidents injured seven people and killed a semi-truck driver from Indianapolis.

Injury mishaps began on the afternoon of August 30 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 31 South and State Road 356.
