An eight-week program, this year the summer reading schedule offers weekly water-related activities at the three libraries. Children who register will be required to read a minimum of ten books over the eight-week period to qualify for weekly prize drawings and program-ending parties planned in Scottsburg, Austin and Lexington.

“Water! Make a Splash: Read!” is the theme around which children ages three to eighth grade can enjoy the annual summer reading program at all three Scott County libraries.

Fathers to be honored at genealogical meeting
At the next meeting of the Scott County Genealogical Society on Thursday, June 3, fathers will be honored.
Each person will be able to participate in a “show and tell” about male ancestors. Bring photos and tell stories about male ancestors.
Doors at the Scott County Heritage Center and Museum in Scottsburg will open at 6 p.m., and food will be served. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $6 at the door. The museum is located at 1050 South Main Street. For more information, call 752-3388.
