Two Scottsburg women suspected of stealing from the Goodwill BridgePointe Services Inc. store in Scottsburg now face eight charges in Scott Superior Court.
Janice F. Chandler, 49, and Samantha Mullins, 33, appeared at their initial court hearings on December 30 before Judge Nicholas South. Each has seven D Class felony charges of theft and a Class A misdemeanor charge of trespass filed against her.

Members of the Scottsburg Wireless Advisory Board will next meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, at Scottsburg City Hall. Meetings are open to the public.

Scottsburg City Hall closed January 17
Scottsburg City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 17, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Trash normally picked up on Monday will instead be collected on Tuesday, January 18.

Four people injured in December 31 traffic accident in Scottsburg PDF Print E-mail

A daytime traffic accident on Friday, December 31, in Scottsburg resulted in injury to four people.
According to the report issued by the Scottsburg Police Department, a 1989 Chevy Caprice being driven north on U.S. Highway 31 by Freda Redifer, 69, Scottsburg, was rear-ended by a 2007 Toyota Yaris operated by Jennifer L. Mace, 31, Scottsburg. The collision occurred just after 12:30 p.m. at the highway’s intersection at York Road.
Redifer told Sgt. Joe Nicholson that she had stopped, waiting to turn left onto York Rd. when the accident happened.

Three motorists listed as injured in recent Scott County accidents PDF Print E-mail

Of the 14 traffic accidents that the Scott County Sheriff’s Department has investigated since December 12, thankfully only three have involved injuries to drivers.
The first injury accident reported to the department occurred at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15. The location to which Deputy Mark Hays was sent was 200 feet west of Whitsitt Road on State Road 256 East.
Driver Jeffrey W. Tackett, 53, Belleville, Mi, told the officer that had been westbound on S.R. 56 when a deer crossed his driving lane. He swerved to miss the animal and ran  his 1994 Peterbilt tractor-trailer rig onto the north side of the highway.
