So said Terry Eaglin of TE Productions, who put on the Stock Car racing on July 11, 2011, at the grandstand at the Scott County 4-H Fair. The track was fast which meant that the racing was fast and fun for the viewers. The mastermind behind the fast track was Steve Trabue who turned a grass covered oval into a race track.  At first the track was a bit too dry but a water truck soon remedied that. Racers came from California, Tennessee, and Kentucky to participate. As usual, Julian’s Wrecker Service was on hand, as well as firemen.

Competition for a Queen’s crown will feature ten young ladies on Sunday, July 10 PDF Print E-mail

Ten lovely young ladies will be competing for the crown of the 2011 Miss Scott County Fair Queen in the pageant scheduled for Sunday evening, July 10, at Scottsburg High School’s McClain Hall. Members of the Pilot Club of Scott County are organizing the pageant, which is scheduled to begin following the 2011 Little Miss and Little Master of Scott County contest that Sunday in the air-conditioned facility. Tickets will be sold at the door. Each queen candidate is sponsored by either a business or local organization. Watch for this exceptional group in the “Come to the Fair” parade scheduled for 3 p.m. on July 10, and everyone is invited to attend the pageant that will feature the girls performing a brief dance and then modeling evening gowns and business attire as they answer questions on stage. A panel of out-of-county judges will select this year’s Queen and the 2011 Fair Princess. The ten candidates will select the 2011 Miss Congeniality by voting among themselves.

19 sweet Little Misses in 2011 competition at Scottsburg High School PDF Print E-mail

With 19 young ladies from which to select, the winner of the 2011 Little Miss of Scott County title will be hard for judges to select during the competition set for Sunday evening, July 10, at Scottsburg High School’s McClain Hall. The Little Miss contest is combined with the Little Master of Scott County event. Judges will see how each child reacts to simple questions on stage. Their demeanor and appearance as well as cute curls, flirty eyes and delightful manners will help judges pick the 2011 Little Miss. The program will begin at 6 p.m., with tickets being sold at the door.
