A teenager was among the ten people injured in five traffic accidents that occurred in Scottsburg and Scott County last week.
Allyssa M. Ingalls, 17, was traveling south on U.S. Highway 31 just before 3:30 p.m. in Tuesday, September 25, when she struck the rear of a 2005 Chevrolet C1500 pickup operated by Dale W. Baker, 43, Scottsburg. Baker told Deputy Shawn Mayer that he had stopped on U.S. 31 southbound awaiting a chance to turn left onto Coffee Pot Road.  Ingalls said she wasn’t paying attention and didn’t see the pickup stop.

Local judge sets bails at $75,000 each for two suspected heroin dealers PDF Print E-mail

Two suspects involved in the alleged sale of heroin to undercover subjects are now scheduled for jury trials in January.
When Brian A. Leep, 28, and Aaron L. Fisher, 30, both of Scottsburg, appeared on September 17 for their initial court hearings before Circuit Court Judge Roger Duvall, each man had a not guilty plea entered for him. Each is charged with a Class A felony of dealing in a Schedule 1 controlled substance. Leep also faces a Class A misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia.

A federal indictment against Billy Joe Dugard, 36, for robbing two banks in Scott and Washington counties in April was announced this past week by Joseph H. Hogsett, U.S. Attorney of the Southern District of Indiana.
