In a span of six days, three injury accidents occurred on either Scottsburg or county roads. Five people were listed with injuries from the mishaps, the most severely hurt a Lexington 17-year-old.
Two people were injured on Monday, July 18, on State Road 56 about 1,500 feet east of its intersection with State Road 3. The accident occurred at 2:10 p.m., according to the report prepared by Deputy Shawn Mayer of the Sheriff’s Department.

Austin Summer Adventure 2011 continues to bring plenty of activities for children and their parents to enjoy in July and August.
The activities/enrichment program is being sponsored through the grant given to the City of Austin by the Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. It benefits low-income families, helping them gain educational and work skills.

So said Terry Eaglin of TE Productions, who put on the Stock Car racing on July 11, 2011, at the grandstand at the Scott County 4-H Fair. The track was fast which meant that the racing was fast and fun for the viewers. The mastermind behind the fast track was Steve Trabue who turned a grass covered oval into a race track.  At first the track was a bit too dry but a water truck soon remedied that. Racers came from California, Tennessee, and Kentucky to participate. As usual, Julian’s Wrecker Service was on hand, as well as firemen.
