Both county and Scottsburg law enforcement officers were busy during a five-day period investigating four accidents that left a total of seven people injured.
Sheriff’s deputies and officers with the Scottsburg City Police Department investigated a total of 11 accidents from April 3 through April 9.

Clark County officers are still awaiting the outcome of toxicology reports and other evidence in connection with a fatal accident that happened north of Henryville on Saturday, March 26, that killed a Scottsburg woman.
A funeral service was conducted this past week for Christine Jones, 76, the Scottsburg woman who died at the scene of a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 31 north of Henryville on Saturday evening, March 26.

Jennings Township tax rates increase.... Property tax statements to arrive in mail soon; payments due May 10 PDF Print E-mail

Scott County Treasurer Iva Gasaway announced that she expects to mail property tax statements to owners in the next few weeks.
Gasaway said tax duplicates in the computer system have been approved and turned over to her office. The mailing will allow taxpayers about a month to pay their semi-annual tax installment by the usual May 10 deadline.
The Treasurer’s Office prints and mails statements and collects taxes.

Scottsburg’s city-wide spring clean-up beginning on April 25 PDF Print E-mail

Staff of Scottsburg’s Street Department is gearing up for the city’s annual spring clean-up effort.
According to Street Department Superintendent Jason Applegate, the effort will begin on Monday, April 25. He said trucks will pick up large household items and other trash once throughout Scottsburg. The process could take up to three weeks to complete, Applegate stated.

Three people were listed as injured on March  24 after the collision of a Toyota Corolla and an Oldsmobile at the intersection of Slab and Cutshall Roads in the New Providence neighborhood.
