Farm Credit Purchases Firefighting Gear for Lexington Fire Department
Farm Credit Services of Mid-America recently presented a check for $1,750 to the Lexington Township Volunteer Fire Department. The gift will completely outfit one volunteer fireman with a new set of firefighting gear. “This donation will really help us out,” said Terry Walker, Lexington Fire Chief. “We needed to replace seven sets of turnout (firefighting) gear this year and we didn’t have enough money to replace of them all. Those older sets were obsolete and past the OSHA ten-year replacement date, and some had holes in them or were otherwise in sad shape. This donation will allow us to put gear on one more of our members and is greatly appreciated.”
