THEFT OF RAILROAD TRACK LED TO A MULTI-AGENCY PURSUIT PDF Print E-mail

On September 30, Deputies from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office received information in regards to a male subject that was stealing railroad track from the Louisville-Indiana Railroad near Van Campen road in Austin.
Deputies arrived on scene shortly after receiving the information and observed a male subject on near the railroad. As Deputies arrived on scene the male subject begin running toward his vehicle.
Chief Deputy Don Campbell recognized the male subject to be Jimmie Gay, Jimmy Gay jumped into a blue Chevy S10 and fled from Deputies east on Van Campen road.
Jimmie Gay led Scott County Deputies, Scottsburg City Police and Austin Police on a several mile pursuit before crashing into a utility pole on Frog Pond Road.
After crashing into the utility pole Jimmie Gay exited his vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area near Frog Pond Road.
After a brief search of the wooded area Officers were unable to locate Jimmy Gay.
Charges are being filed on Jimmie Gay for Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement/in a Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of Jimmy Gay and asking anyone that has information to contact the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at 812-752-8400 or 812-752-7898.

According to reports released by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department and Scottsburg city police, three people were injured in two separate accidents, both of which occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, September 26.

A Scottsburg area woman was taken into custody by city police after allegedly leaving the scene of a personal injury accident on southbound Interstate 65 on Monday afternoon, September 21.

Homicide in Scott County on Sunday PDF Print E-mail

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Indiana State Police, are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 3000 block of Slate Ford Road in Scott County Indiana.

At approximately 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 27, authorities received a call concerning a male that was unresponsive, lying in a driveway.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities were able to identify Bill A. Reynolds (07/28/1946) of Scott County, Indiana, deceased from a gunshot wound.

Law Enforcement is fully engaged in this investigation and are collecting evidence and conducting interviews.
