Woman passenger hurt when vehicle struck by reserve deputy’s car Sunday PDF Print E-mail

A passenger in a 2008 PT Cruiser was injured when the car was struck in the driver’s side by a reserve deputy trying to get to the scene of a call.
Joyce Scroggins, 63, Elizabethtown, In., was seated behind her husband, Raymond E. Scroggins, 65, as he drove north into the intersection of State Road 56 and Lake Road on Sunday afternoon, November 21, in Scottsburg. An elderly relative of the couple’s was in the front passenger seat.

A house fire in Austin’s north end killed an elderly woman on Saturday morning, November 20.
The body of Lucy Seale, 89, was found by Jennings Township Volunteer Fire Department personnel attempting to extinguish the blaze at 141 North Street.

Missing Austin man’s family still mourning his loss after year of little hope PDF Print E-mail

It will soon be a year since Paul Graupe disappeared from his neighborhood in Austin.
Paul is the 50-year-old, slightly built, dark-haired man who was last seen near his home in the early afternoon of Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Neighbors later reported seeing him walking his little dog on English Avenue. Graupe told one person that he planned to go visit a neighbor who owed him some money that day.
He was never seen again.

Organizations, churches and student groups have all answered a call for help to restock the dwindling supply of food on the shelves of the Scott County Community Clearinghouse pantry recently.
