The Floyd Central girl’s basketball team continues to struggle this season to begin their new campaign as they dropped their fourth straight game, this time to Hoosier Hills Conference favorites Seymour, on Tuesday night 62-41.

The Borden girls basketball team came into their game at Trinity Lutheran feeling a bit down with a limited of girls playing this season. With no junior varsity team the Braves were just trying to find something to build on early in the season.

Makenzie Smith, a junior at Borden High School, founded Makenzie’s Coat Closet in 2006 as a 7 year old with a mission to ensure that the less fortunate have a coat to keep themselves’ warm during the winter season. Now in its eighth year, Makenzie’s Coat Closet has collected and distributed more than 26,000 coats to the areas at need population. In addition to the gently used collection efforts of last year, Makenzie’s foundation distributed over 1,100 brand new coats, gloves and scarves to clients of St Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, Open Door Youth Services Southern Indiana and Child Place of Southern Indiana with donations and grants received totaling over $16,000.00 worth of new items.
