The 35th annual Eastern Invitational Cross Country meet was held on Thursday, Oct. 3 with teams from everywhere competing.

The Bedford North Lawrence Stars came to Floyd Central with a 1-5 record after a loss to Jennings county. The Floyd Central Highlanders had a huge 30-76 loss last week at Columbus East.
Head coach Brian Glesing of Floyd Central and Steve Weber of the Stars were former college football teammates in Hanover. Both coaches came into the game with different offensive attacks.

This has been a good year for local boys’ cross country teams. On Saturday, Sept. 21, Borden’s boys won the Crawford County Invitaional and the Eastern team came in second out of 29 teams.

Four FCHS students named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program PDF Print E-mail
On September 11, 2013 officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 59th National Merit Scholarship Program.  From Floyd Central High School, four students were named semifinalists:  Zoe Doebbler, Madison Foster, Sarah Henry and Sara Saatvedt.
