Police chase ends in Washington County PDF Print E-mail

A chase of a man who is accused of trying to break into a pharmacy ended in Washington County.

Shannon Martin is facing charges of resisting law enforcement and attempted burglary after he allegedly tried to break into “The Drug Store” on North Luther Road with an ax on Sunday night.

Martin fled and during the chase Floyd County Deputy Joel White crashed his patrol car into a tree.

He was not seriously injured.

The burglary and chase are still being investigated.

Borden Drops Two in Holiday Tourney First round game against Salem PDF Print E-mail

Borden Braves ran into a buzz saw in the first quarter as the matched basket for basket with the Salem Lions. The buzz saw part was all six of the Lions baskets were threes. Salem added a couple of free-throws to take a 20 to 12 lead. By half Salem used their height to penetrate and keep Borden out of the lane. Salem pushed their lead out to 33 to 18.

Former North Harrison runner is NCAA champion PDF Print E-mail

Former North Harrison cross country and track standout and current USI student-athlete Johnny

Guy, Palmyra, paid a visit to the Statehouse last week as Senator Vaneta Becker and Senator Erin

Houchin honored him for winning the NCAA Champion in the 10,000-meter run.
