Floyd County Adult Literacy Connections Seeks Volunteers

Floyd County Adult Literacy Connections (ALC) is seeking volunteers to be trained as literacy tutors. Tutors must be 21 or older, be Floyd County residents, have completed high school or the equivalent, be willing to attend 12 hours of free training, be available for 2 hours per week and be able to commit to service as a literacy tutor for one year.
The Borden Braves traveled to Austin to play the Eagles Friday night. The game was a battle down to the last minute before the Braves were able to create the separation in scoring to take the win 53 to 49.
At 6-2 FC is off to their best start in four years. The highlanders picked up two victories last week 1st handily defeating Charlestown 60-39 at home. Then going on the road to defeat Corydon Central who is ranked 4th in 3A 51-41.
The New Washington Mustangs traveled to Borden for an important conference game. Both teams were the last to be undefeated in the conference. After a good first quarter the Mustangs gave way to the Borden Braves as they steadily pulled out to take the win. The Braves have one more Conference game against Henryville. A win will give them the conference championship; a loss and they will share the conference championship.
