Floyd starts off with 14-0 lead over NH; hangs on for 48-33 victory
It’s a good thing that the Floyd Central Highlanders got off to a 14-0 start in their home contest with the North Harrison Cougars Saturday night, because the Cougars outscored them only 34-33 the rest of the way.
The opening onslaught took place over the first seven minutes of the game, and it forced North Harrison into two time outs by the 1:01 mark in the 1st quarter.

JANUARY 11, 2011
Mr. Speaker, members of the Assembly, Hoosier friends and neighbors, thank you yet again for the privilege of this platform.
For most of us, one of the strongest memories of our youth is that great school teacher, that magical man or woman who somehow reached us, and stretched us, and in the process left indelible recollections. For me, one of those was Bob Watson—still, today, Mr. Watson to me—who introduced us to the mysteries of the periodic table in high school chemistry.  In addition to mixing potions that suddenly turned purple, and terrifying pop quizzes, Mr. Watson was famous for his aphorisms, little sayings so often repeated that his students still smile and recite them to each other decades later. And the most frequently applied of all Watson’s wisdoms was: “Good things come to those who wait. Patience is the essence of life.”

There is good news for folks in the Borden and Starlight areas as the “Star Hill Road” project took a step forward last Thursday.
In addition to passing a motion to seek financial help for the project from the Clark-Floyd Counties Convention and Tourism Bureau, the commissioners also approved allocating $50,000 to help the project move forward.
That $50,000 will be combined with $50,000 that was pledged by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and $50,000 that is being acquired by the Borden Community Development group.
Jeff Hunt, who is a member of that group said the funding will be used to finish the final engineering and to work on securing right-of-way.
