Although not a unanimous vote, the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation Board of Directors appointed a new board member during their January 30th meeting. The appointment is to replace the seat vacated in December by D.J. Hines. Board members nominated and approved Lee Cotner to the board.
North Harrison’s run falls short in Class 3A championship game

After last season’s loss in the Class 3A State Finals to Heritage Christian, the North Harrison Lady Cats girl’s basketball team had the vision and drive to make it there again this year.
They managed to do just that, but they met a tough South Bend St. Joseph team who wanted it a little bit more as the Lady Cats fell 57-49 to end their season with a second straight runners-up trophy.
Law enforcement agencies team up for dangerous and impaired driving campaign
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department/Georgetown Police Department Traffic Safety Partnership recently announced today they will join efforts with over 250 Indiana state and local law enforcement agencies to increase education and enforcement around dangerous and impaired driving. From March 3 through March 26, 2017, officers across the state will conduct high-visibility patrols specifically designated to identify and intercept those driving aggressively and under the influence.
