The Kentucky Derby Festival’s Waterfront Jam returns on Thursday, April 27, at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville. The concert series includes over 30 local and regional bands and 7 national concerts on two stages. Admission to all shows is FREE with a 2017 Pegasus Pin. Kroger sponsors the Waterfront Jam, along with Contributing Sponsor Miller Lite.

Eight players who will participate in the 2017 IHSAA State Finals highlight the list of the Top 60 invitees— Jazmyne Geist, Karissa McLaughlin and Madisen Parker (AAAA - Homestead), Nicole Konieczny and Daly Sullivan (AAA - South Bend St. Joe), Taylor Drury (AA - Eastern-Pekin), Brenna Maikranz (Class A - Wood Memorial) and Courtney Wise (Class A - Union City).

Hot water issue at Floyd County jail PDF Print E-mail

Floyd County Sheriff Frank Loop came before the Floyd County Commissioners during their February 7 meeting to make them aware of issues with the hot water system in the jail.
Loop said the repairs, which is not a part of the jail’s renovation plans, which are scheduled to begin later this year. Loop said the hot water system repairs will likely cost around $50,000-$60,000. Loop said he has asked Shireman Construction to assist in getting the bids. Loop said the Building Authority doesn’t have the funds for make the repair and that he would need the county to assist with it.
