Jon Hill has resigned as C.E.O. of the Washington County Family YMCA. The Board has appointed Jerry Short as Interim C.E.O.
Hill said by e-mail last week that his time in Washington County has been special.
“I have been honored to work at the Washington County YMCA,” he said. “Its been a pleasure to bring the mission of the YMCA  to the Washington County community. Its been a blessing to have served everyone that is part of the YMCA. I am glad to be a part of the growth of the Y locally.”

EWMS to offer vaccinations PDF Print E-mail

East Washington School Corporation in conjunction with the Washington County Health Department is  offering a vaccination clinic  at the High school cafeteria for students that are not up-to-date on their vaccinations of Varicella, meningococcal, or Tdap. The dates are Oct 27th and 28th 1-5 pm.

Correction on Prevent Child Abuse fundraiser PDF Print E-mail

Washington County Prevent Child Abuse is holding a hog and weenie roast fundraiser on October 28 at 6 p.m. at Southern Hills Church, not Oct. 9 as it was reported in the Sept. 29 issue of The Washington County Editon.
Tickets are now available for $10 per person or you can sponsor a table for $100 and receive eight tickets.
YouthFirst of Washington County will be holding a silent auction that evening along with PCA will have a dessert auction.

SHS girls' soccer team slays Lady Dragons PDF Print E-mail

In what can only be described as a nailbiter, the Salem Girls soccer team defeated the visiting Silver Creek Dragons in a double penalty kick shootout for a conference win.

Salem, last-year’s Mid-Southern Conference co-champion, has struggled this year with only one win and five losses.
