One-mile walk & 5K run new to the “Splash & Shiver for Blue River” event PDF Print E-mail

Blue River Services, Inc. has added a One-Mile Walk and 5K Run to their “Splash & Shiver for Blue River” fundraising event.  Both events will be held on Saturday morning, March 24th at Buffalo Trace Park in Palmyra.  All proceeds from the event will go to support the mission of Blue River Services.

The burial expense for a family of five would venture around $20,000 on the low end, but like so many people have in the past week and a half, local businesses and citizens stepped up to cover the cost to bury the family that died as a result of injuries suffered in the tornado that hit Pekin on March 2.

Lions give Brownstown all they can handle, fall short PDF Print E-mail


The Salem Lions had Brownstown on the ropes in the final minutes of the two teams March 5 showdown in the Class 3A Sectional 30 championship game, but was never able to deliver the knock-out punch.
Brownstown outscored the Lions 8-0 over the final 2:29 and won the game 54-49.
