Council ups cemetery fees, talks redistricting PDF Print E-mail

The Salem City Council met for their monthly public meeting on the evening of February 13, 2012. 
They first received an update on the Lake John Hays expansion from Mike Goering, engineer and designer on the project. The LJH expansion is intended to raise the lake’s pool level in order to increase capacity and add an estimated year’s supply of water to the reservoir. The council approved the plan back in September of 2010.

Over the past month, the Washington County Drug Team, with the help of the Indiana State Police Meth Team has been busy cleaning up Washington County.
The two groups made 18 arrests and shutdown 14 meth labs.

Handling Delaney’s debt PDF Print E-mail

The Washington County Council spent quite a bit of time talking about Delaney Creek Park and its more than $200,000 in debt.
Of that amount, $55,726.66 is the result of a tax rate change that left that account in the red.
