STATEHOUSE – Governor Mike Pence recently signed Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 246 into law. The law was sponsored by State Representative Steve Davisson (R-Salem) in the House, which defines an “owner”, when referring to someone who employs or contracts individuals to dispense controlled substances, to maintain a controlled substance registration.

The Delaney Creek Park Board voted to fire Park Manager Mo Burman effective immediately at its regular meeting on May 21.
The decision was made according to Park Board President Tim Rainbolt due to the fact that expectations were not being met.

The Summer Reading Program at the Salem Library begins on June 1 and they may begin signing up on June 1 or anytime after June 1. Summer Reading Program ends on July 13 and NO prizes will be awarded after July 13 (No Exceptions). You will need to come to the library to sign up and fill out your registration card , also to receive your reading logs and other summer programming information.

The Salem Myers Pool recently opened for the season on Memorial Day, May 27, 2013. The pool’s hours are 12:30 to 5:30 pm on Monday through Saturday, weather permitting.
