One man is dead, another injured after an early Friday (August 15, 2014) crash on State Road 60.
According to a press release issued by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 1:36 a.m. on the morning of Aug. 15, the Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding a single motor vehicle crash on State Road 60 west of Powers Road.

Salem turns 200, next milestone 2064! PDF Print E-mail

After celebrating Old Settlers’ Days a week ago, the Salem Public Square transformed into a large birthday party.    
Salem celebrated its Bicentennial.
There was a parade, a street fair, a historic homes tour and many other events to mark the occasion.
There is also plenty of merchandise to mark the city’s 200th birthday.
The next milestone will be in 2064 when Salem turns 250 years old.
