The Salem City Council met for their regular monthly meeting on Monday,  December 12, 2011.
The meeting opened with a presentation by Judy Johnson, who represented the Washington County Community Foundation. Earlier this year the Foundation brought four college interns on board with the challenge of creating a video that explores various aspects of living in and around Salem’s community. The interns, all Washington County natives, spent their summer filming various locations around town and interviewing many Salem residents for the project. The result is a 35 minute film entitled “What’s Great About Washington County” that showcases the historical, recreational and communal aspects of living in the area. Johnson showed a clip from the finished product featuring residents talking about the beauty of Washington County’s landscapes and the cost of living in Salem.
