Back in February of this year, Detective Rachel Abbott from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg was contacted by the Washington County Department of Child Services about an allegation of child molestation that had allegedly occurred in Washington County.

SR 56 Bridge At Elk Creek Scheduled For Overlay Next Sunday PDF Print E-mail

The Indiana Department of Transportation is on schedule to close the State Road 56 bridge over Elk Creek two miles west of S.R. 39 next week—weather permitting— for a polymeric bridge deck overlay.  INDOT officials expect this closure will begin Sunday morning (SEPTEMBER 27) and be lifted within two to three days, unless inclement weather causes a postponement.

Cold case arrest made in Washington County after 15 years PDF Print E-mail

On Tuesday October 26th of 1999, in the evening hours, Eric S. Jones, 42, from Alexander Avenue in Salem, allegedly broke into a home located on Commerce Drive in Salem. After breaking into the home he allegedly battered and sexually assaulted a twelve year old boy. The boy stated he had come home to what he thought was an empty home. When he entered the residence he was allegedly attacked by Eric S. Jones whom had broken into the home, while no one was there. Eric S. Jones allegedly asked if the boy’s mother was home. The victim replied no. Eric S. Jones then allegedly brutally battered and sexually assaulted the young boy. When Eric S. Jones heard someone coming to the home he fled on foot.
