Eastern High School sophomore Alex Doebler hit one of two free throws with 13 seconds remaining to seal the win, 56-52, in Friday's Washington County showdown against West Washington.

Doebler's point, along with a RJ Jackson scoring 11 of his game-high 22 points in the final eight minutes game the Musketeers their first win on the young season.

West Washington senior Chad Thompson was the Senators' leading scorer with 20 points.

Eastern's record is now 1-2, they are off until Friday when they travel to Crawford County to play the Wolfpack.

West Washington, 1-1, will host Christian Academy Tuesday night in Campbellsburg.

holiday weekend

Jeffery Fleenor, 54, Fredericksburg, was arrested and charged with possession of firearm by serious violent felon, criminal recklessness with a firearm and shooting into inhabitted residence.
According to Washington County Prosecutor Dustin Houchin, Fleenor’s neighbors found a bullet hole and suspected it was fired by Fleenor.

Perdiew named Volunteer of the Year PDF Print E-mail

Anita Perdiew, a long time volunteer in the office of The Depot railroad museum, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Washington County Historical Society.
