US Court rules Circuit Court terminations not politically motivated PDF Print E-mail

Washington Circuit Court Judge Larry Medlock was on the other side of the bench as former court employees Dora Ray and Lori Gilstrap filed a complaint of the termination of their employment.
According to papers acquired from the United States District Court Southern District of Indiana New Albany Division, Ray and Gilstrap claimed they were discharged for political reasons, in violation of the first amendment, against Medlock in an individual capacity.

Pekin looks to reclaim world record for spoon ensemble at 2013 festival PDF Print E-mail

Plans continue to come together for the 183rd Pekin Fourth of July Celebration, which will not only include carnival rides, but another attempt at breaking the world record for largest spoon ensemble.
Pekin broke the old record at the 2011 festival, but was outdone by a group from Japan at Pearl Harbor.

Folks gathered last Saturday in Pekin park to look back on the events that took place in the afternoon of March 2, 2012.

A year after the deadly tornado that ripped through the Pekin community, some have finished rebuilding and others still have a way to go. Pictured above are those who attended preparing for the balloon release.
