On yesterday’s date at approximately 5:00 PM, Trooper Nate Abbott had received information of alleged drug activity taking place at the U.S. Census Bureau property in Jeffersonville, IN. Trooper Abbott, his K-9 “Kilo” and a Special Agent from the Federal Government visited the property and made contact with Robert Robertson, 29, from Flower Gap Road in New Albany, IN.

Pirates cruise past Lions for 46-7 Homecoming victory PDF Print E-mail

 

The Salem Lions traveled to Charlestown last Friday night to try to spoil the Pirates' homecoming. Salem took the opening possession and found the scoreboard first but it would prove to be the only visitors' score on the evening in the Bone Yard. The Pirates would take control of the ballgame and answer the early Salem lead with a touchdown of their own. After Charlestown took the early lead, 12-7, the Pirates would never relinquish the lead as the Pirate defense denied any Lion trying to find the endzone after the opening possession. Charlestown took the 46-7 Mid Southern Conference victory. The Pirates now lead the series with the Lions, 22-21.

Pirates hand Corydon first loss, 21-19 PDF Print E-mail

Last Friday night the Pirates of Charlestown were pumped and ready for a battle on the grid iron with the visiting Panthers of Corydon Central. Charlestown needed to knock off the undefeated No. 5 in the Coaches Poll and No. 4 in the Media Poll Panthers for a chance of claiming a share of the 2011 Mid Southern Conference title.

Pirates surge in second half to capture 41-28 win at Providence PDF Print E-mail

After an emotional win last Friday night against the then undefeated Panthers of Corydon, the Pirates traveled to Clarksville Friday night for a show down with the Pioneers of Providence. The Pirates took advantage of a Pioneer fumble in the second half to score back-to-back touchdowns. The second half surge pushed Charlestown to a 41-28 win over the homestanding Pioneers. Charlestown improved their overall record to 6-2.
