In support of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow event at the Historic Tunnel Mill October 20, the Charlestown Library is having a community read of the story. The Community Read iscan be completed at your own pace and in the location of your choice.
Multiple paper copies will be available at the library, as well as electronic copies from Project Gutenberg. Anyone reading the book from the library or downloadable source is eligible for a coupon for a $2 discount on the Charlestown State Park/Rose Island/Historic Tunnel Mill/John Work House (Sleepy Hollow) tours.

Sellersburg Police Chief Russ Whelan has announced his intention to add reserve officers to the department.
Interested citizens are encouraged to obtain an application from the Sellersburg Police Department located at 101 S. New Albany Street in Sellersburg. Applications may be received from Deputy Chief Donald Ross Jr. or Administrative Assistant Patty Clapp Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Charlestown rolls to 5-0... Pirates take Homecoming win over Silver Creek PDF Print E-mail

The Dragons of Silver Creek traveled down State Road 403 last Friday night for the short trip to Dutch Reis Field. Silver Creek was coming off their first win in 70 years, as Charlestown was playing to stay undefeated. The Pirates stayed unbeaten at they took the “Battle of 403” with the 70-13 win.

Pirates cage Panthers 47-0 to claim share of MSC title PDF Print E-mail

Pirate Nation answered the call to fill the stands at Corydon Central last Friday night. Many Pirate faithful made the journey down I-64 to show their Pirate Pride as the visiting bleachers filled quickly leaving standing room only. Pirate fans lined the fence to be sure to catch a glimpse of what was one of the hottest games in the area.
