Charlestown High School Pirates Coach Tom Hamilton died Wednesday in Shelbyville, KY. He headed the boys’ varsity basketball program at Charlestown from 1968 to 1970, where he directed outstanding players Danny Albertson, Bob Brashear, Mike Bottorff and Norman Kalkhoff.

Testing and care coordination services aim to reach those infected with HIV

According to the Indiana State Department of Health, more than 10,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS in Indiana, and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that more than one million people are living with HIV/AIDS in the United States. Early diagnosis and treatment saves lives and is known to reduce the spread of HIV. Those with HIV who are on treatment and in care can reduce the risk of spreading the virus to others by as much as 96 percent.
