On March 3, Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel implemented a new initiative allowing an option for citizens to have a safe exchange site at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. There are three locations that can be utilized, the Clark County Jail lobby from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., the main entrance to the Clark County Government building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the rear entrance to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (adjacent to the intersection of 7th  Street and Meigs Avenue) 24 hours a day.

During the recent Clark County Cemetery Commission meeting held at the Sellersburg Library, board members and guests sat around the tables discussing concerns and problems with some cemeteries in Clark County. Board members, John Prall, JoAnn Sullivan, Jerry Callam and Kelly Khuri, along with President David Abbott, welcomed guests, Nancy Hemphill, Josie Hemphill, Lena Callam and Juanita Spear at the beginning of the meeting.

Bree Brown is a normal teenager on every aspect, except one. Brown is fighting Stage 4 Ewing’s Sarcoma. She has since started intensive chemotherapy and other treatments. This has been and will continue to cost a terrific amount of money. Friends and family are hosting a benefit to help reduce some of the stress, burden, and cost to the family so they can focus on getting Bree well again.

Indiana Department of Transportation officials met with its prime contractor late last week at Seymour District offices to launch a $7.2 million project to repair and repave six miles of Interstate 64 in Floyd County between State Road 62/S.R. 64 and the Kentucky state line.  Work is scheduled to begin in early April.
