You could tell it was Sectional time in Indiana last Friday night. All over the state, fans were dressed in their favorite team colors with gloves, hats and warm boots or huddled in blankets to keep warm. The Boneyard was no different as Pirate Nation filled the stands to cheer on their Pirates in the opening round of Sectional 31.

Local football teams preparing for IHSAA Football State Tournament PDF Print E-mail

The Indiana High School Athletic Association held the draw for the 41st Annual IHSAA Football State Tournament on Sunday, October 13. The tournament is presented by the Indianapolis Colts. This  year’s new format features 322 teams and 18,668 student athletes.

Marching Band of Pirates takes Gold PDF Print E-mail
The Charlestown Band of Pirates marched to victory with their “Of Lords and Peasants” show. On October 5, the Band of Pirates competed at the Salem Invitational despite rainy weather. They were awarded second place and best color guard. Corydon Central took first place and West Washington took third place. The Pirates then proceeded to The Indiana State School Music Association Scholastic Preliminary at Jasper High School on October 12.

21st annual Autumn on the River Festival to be held this weekend in Bethlehem PDF Print E-mail
“The weather is changing, the leaves are changing and that can only mean one thing, it is time for Autumn on the River,” stated David Abbott, Co-Chair of Autumn on the River. “With the cooler morning temperatures growing into warmer afternoons, the weather tells us it is time for the festival. Autumn on the River, in it’s 21st year, is always a great, family fun festival. This always seems like a big family reunion to me. It seems like we have families that come every year and meet with friends to spend the weekend in Bethlehem.”
