The Pirate wrestling team hosted the annual Mid?Southern Conference Duals meet on Saturday, December 12 in Dunn Arena.
The Pirate wrestlers kept their Mid?Southern Conference winning streak alive with four more wins, despite several battles with injuries.  The Pirates extended their consecutive MSC winning streak to 40 matches, a streak dating back to December of 2003.
In the opener of the MSC Duals, the Pirates pounded Salem 72?3 and then followed that up with a 72?6 whipping of Eastern.
In round three, the Pirates fell behind Corydon 16?10 early, before momentum shifted and the Pirates cruised to a 66?16 victory.
In the final MSC bout of the day, competition got a little exciting against the Scottsburg Warrior. In a
"great, back?and?forth dual" the Pirates escaped with a 47?36 win over the talented Warriors.

After grabbing a win over arch rival Scottsburg in their previous game, the Austin Lady Eagles made another Mid-Southern Conference (MSC) stop at Charlestown on December 2 to take on the hosting Lady Pirates.
What was a close game in the first half turned around in the Lady Eagles' favor thanks in part to senior spark Katy McIntosh in the last two quarters.
The Lady Eagles walked off the court with a 56-43 victory and improved their overall record to 5-0 on the year and 2-0 in the MSC.
The first half began with a steal and a lay-in by Michelle Goodin which was followed up by 4 nice points made by McIntosh to put the score at 6-0 Eagles.
When a basket from the paint by Shantel Gray gave Austin a 10-2 lead, the Lady Pirates called a quick time out to get some plays set up. Charlestown began to creep back into the game and eventually snatched a 16-15 advantage over the visitors.
