The Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg received a telephone call from Louisville Metro Police Detectives late Sunday, April 2, stating they had possibly tracked an armed robbery suspect, James R. Daugherty, Jr., 48, from Jeffersonville  to the Pilot Truck Stop in Memphis.

Charlestown students will compete this summer at nationals PDF Print E-mail

Charlestown High School’s growing club- Family Community Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) members traveled to Muncie on March 9 joining students from 40 other schools from around the state. They competed in events such as, Interior Design, Advocacy, Nutrition and Wellness, Illustrated Talk, and many more similar events.

Last Saturday was one of the hottest days so far this year with temperatures reaching the high 80’s with high humidity. The higher temperature had some reaching for cold water to quench their thirst or trying to get outside chores finished before predicted storms hit the area.

CCSO welfare check leads to police chase, arrest PDF Print E-mail

The Clark County Sheriffs Office received a call to check the welfare of a female who had been seen at the Dollar General store on County Road 311 in Sellersburg with a male subject identified as Evan Payne, 24, of Jeffersonville on May 25 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Lady Pirates host camp for future Charlestown stars PDF Print E-mail

Charlestown Lady Pirates Basketball hosts a youth basketball camp every year for students who are interested in perfecting their fundamental skills such as shooting, passing, catching, and working as a team. During the week, the Charlestown High School Girl’s Basketball Team works with younger students to build their skill levels and ability to play the game of basketball. Not only does it give kids abilities to better their basketball skills, but it allows them to grow as young adults by providing them with communication skills, team bonding, and life lessons.
