Pirates take 46-20 Homecoming win over rival Silver Creek
by MICHAEL ROSS
The stands were overflowing on both sides of Dutch Reis Field last Friday night as the Pirates celebrated their 2014 Homecoming by hosting Mid Southern Conference rival Silver Creek.
The teams prepared all week for what both sides knew would be a great game. The Dragons and Pirates battled at The Bone Yard as Charlestown opened with a 21-0 advantage before Silver Creek clawed back. The Dragons pulled within seven early in the last quarter before Charlestown’s Tate Boley returned a 75 yard punt for the momentum shift. The Pirates took the 46-20 Mid Southern Conference win to push their record to 4-1.
