Prosser Technical School's Building Trades Class have made a significant contribution to the community and specifically Art in Speed Park.
Under the direction of Building Trades instructors, Jeff Wimbel and Ron Zimmer the classes of area students designed, built, painted, and delivered massive display boards for use with the inaugural Art in Speed Park Student Art Exhibit.
The exhibit will be held in conjunction with the juried show on August 29 and 30. The display will be held in the Speed Memorial Church Recreation building. The student art exhibit will showcase art for West Clark Community Schools elementary, middle school, and high school art students.
The community partnership with Prosser students also includes Lowe's Building Supply that supplied and delivered supplies at cost.
Director of Art in Speed Park, Kim Johnson stated that it would have been very difficult to display student work without the cooperation of Prosser and their building trades students. John Guenther, Chairmen of the Student Art Exhibit, remarked that having the contribution of the display boards, will make this a lasting project and the WCCS student art exhibit will be using these fine display boards for years to come.
Art in Speed Park would formally like to thank the Prosser students for their efforts. Students involved in the project are: Shelby Anderson, Chris Selter, Randy Johnson, Nick Smith, Nick Curden, Brad Barnett, Michael Bennett, Anthony Everage, and Dylan Helmer. Instructors are Ron Zimmer, and Jeff Wimbel.
Ron Zimmer, Building Trades Instructor, stated, that his students are always willing to take part in community projects and usually do a fine job.
