Charlestown penalized for 125 yards

Charlestown has gotten the best of Corydon over their 11 football meetings, 9-2 counting Friday nights win; however sometimes the vacuum of outside forces ruins a good rivalry game, like Friday night at Corydon.
The Pirates were penalized 11 times, totaling 125 yards; while Corydon was penalized eight times for 62 yards, but no one had control of the game-especially the officials. Words wouldn’t justify the impact the officials had upon the “game” so enough about the ugly-here’s the good and the bad.

Pirates capture Sectional with 18-7 win over North Harrison

The Pirates of Charlestown traveled to Ramsey last Friday night with the hopes of bringing home their second Sectional title in three years. Standing in their way were the Cougars of North Harrison. The Cougars were playing in just their second Sectional title game. North Harrison battled for the title as they held the 7-6 lead until mid fourth quarter. Charlestown found the endzone twice in the last 7:42 to capture the 18-7 victory. The Sectional title is Charlestown’s fifth in the history of Pirate football.

In the afternoon hours of Friday, September 26, troopers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg executed a search warrant at a residence located on Blue Ridge Road in Charlestown. During the execution of the search warrant troopers located Methamphetamine and other drug related paraphernalia.
