Looking at the calendar on the wall one can see that Spring officially began March 20. Soon the grass will be turning a deep green and spring flowers will be popping up from their winter slumber. Winter is officially over and it is time to think Spring. When we think of the idea of a fresh beginning many tend to begin working in their yards removing the last of what winter left.

Purdue Extension Educator Reba Colley will be retiring on March 31, 2013 after 20-plus years of service with Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service. The Clark County Extension Board will host a reception in Colley’s honor on Tuesday, March 19 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Clark County Extension Office, 9608 Highway 62 in Charlestown. Everyone is invited.

Indiana Conservation Officers investigate ATV accident in Clark County |

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred in Clark County this evening. At approximately 4 p.m., Conservation Officers were called to the accident scene on private property located off of Al Wright Road near Borden. The 38 year old victim suffered possible pelvic and leg injuries. He was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

“I used to come in and play on Mom’s sewing machine. She would always tell me don’t break that, I have to have that to make the girls dresses,” Harry Stricker fondly recalled about how he began his passion.
