Last Monday, March 10, several investors, builders and Charlestown city officials gathered on Grace Avenue in Charlestown to participate in a ground breaking, one year in the making. A dozen people grabbed gold handled shovels and broke ground for the new Cobblestone Hotel and Suites in Charlestown as several people looked on.

Charlestown High School Theater is proud to bring the Emmy award winning 1970’s Saturday morning cartoon show to stage. Schoolhouse Rock Live! will be performed on Friday, March 14, Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16. The stage version of this classic will bring back memories of past while making new ones with younger generations.

Multi-agency car chase lands Charlestown man in jail PDF Print E-mail
In the evening hours of February 18, Charlestown Police Department took a stolen vehicle report from a woman who reported that she entered a business near the intersection of Old S.R. 403 and S.R. 3 only for a moment when her maroon 2006 GMC Envoy was stolen.  On February 19 at approximately 6 a.m. Charlestown Officers and Dispatch began monitoring police radio traffic of a high speed vehicle pursuit involving the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and a maroon GMC Envoy.  The driver of the Envoy was described as a short, white male who was wearing a dark colored bandana or beanie hat.  The pursuit in Scott County eventually came to an end after the suspect was able to elude officers.

While watching a new reality television show on TLC a local teen began to think about a new challenge. “Kim of Queens” on Lifetime network is the reality television show featuring a former Miss Georgia and her desire to be a pageant coach for young women with the vision of following in her footsteps. The reality show features her successful business venture of “A Pageant Place” and her steps to make everyday girls into pageant queens.
