Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel and his staff urge motorists to drive cautiously this fall and winter months due to the increase of motor vehicle accidents involving deer. Preliminary statistics show that there have been 64 motor vehicle accidents since October 1 that have involved a collision with a deer in Clark County.

Tomorrow people across the country will gather around their beautifully decorated Thanksgiving themed tables to partake in classic Thanksgiving meals including turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and all the fixings. People also will take a moment and realize what they are most thankful for on the day of Thanksgiving. Once Thanksgiving dinner is finished, dishes washed, football watched and naps taken, local residents will begin to focus their attention on the Christmas season. Black Friday shopping is beginning earlier and earlier each year with some stores opening as soon as 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Night this year.

City of Charlestown to host Christmas Parade December 5 PDF Print E-mail

The excitement is filling the air for Christmas in Charlestown 2015. Officials are expecting lots of families from the local community and surrounding communities to visit Charlestown “The Christmas City” this holiday season.
On Saturday, December 5, at 6 p.m., the City of Charlestown will be hosting its 4th annual Christmas Parade and they want your family, business, and/or organization to be a part of this event. All cars, trucks, floats, farm equipment, or anything you want to decorate with whimsical lights, music, and/or animation will be a great addition to the Parade. The parade will begin at the Charlestown High School parking lot located at 1 Pirate Place, Charlestown, proceed down Park Street to Market Street toward the City Square. You will need to be at CHS no later than 5:30 p.m. on Parade Day for line up.
