The summer has brought high heat and humidity to the local area. The long summer days and nights always give local residents the perfect reason to spend some time relaxing by the pool, pond, creek or even splashing around in a splash park. Many have kiddie pools sitting in the back yard for the little ones to find some fun and relief from the temperatures.

Local family hosting annual fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Association PDF Print E-mail

A local family is working to improve the life of those affected with Alzheimer’s after losing their mother in 2011. Sarah Rose Hall was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2010. Her family now honors her with an annual fundraiser, the Hall Family Alzheimer’s Fundraiser.

Bison are being reintroduced to Indiana as part of the State’s Bicentennial celebration. There are not the living, breathing, 1,000+ pound ones that once roamed the state, but five feet tall, 100 pound fiberglass ones. They are a part of the Indiana Association of United Ways (IaUW) and Indiana Bicentennial Commission, “Bison-tennial Art Project.”
