A routine probation check in 2013 at a house on South High Street in Austin has resulted in recent charges filed against a man who resides in the Underwood area. Scott County Probation Officer Scott Pool and Indiana State Trooper Matt Busick conducted the probation check on Gary D. Amick, 23, at the residence in December of last year. According to the probable cause affidavit,  the officers were allowed into the home, and Pool was initially told that Amick had a small amount of marijuana, a probation violation. When Pool attempted to check on Amick’s statement, the bedroom to which he was directed was padlocked. Amick supplied the key, and showed Pool where the marijuana was located, in a box under a bed. The box certainly contained marijuana, five plastic bags of it. It also had a digital scale, 43 pills identified as Alprazolam, a controlled substance, and three plastic bags of methamphetamine.
