Two suspects involved in the alleged sale of heroin to undercover subjects are now scheduled for jury trials in January.
When Brian A. Leep, 28, and Aaron L. Fisher, 30, both of Scottsburg, appeared on September 17 for their initial court hearings before Circuit Court Judge Roger Duvall, each man had a not guilty plea entered for him. Each is charged with a Class A felony of dealing in a Schedule 1 controlled substance. Leep also faces a Class A misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia.

A federal indictment against Billy Joe Dugard, 36, for robbing two banks in Scott and Washington counties in April was announced this past week by Joseph H. Hogsett, U.S. Attorney of the Southern District of Indiana.

The Scott County School District 2 Board of Trustees took another bold step on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in their public meeting when they agreed to start an online, virtual school option for students of Scott and surrounding counties. 
After a presentation by Scottsburg High School Principal Ric Manns and a question and answer period, the board voted unanimously to begin this opportunity immediately for the students.
