Scott County Fair Board members have set a Friday, July 1, deadline for renting grandstand box seats as well as for vendors wanting spots to set up their stands during the 2016 Scott County Fair.

The fair will operate July 10 to 16. Grandstand events have been scheduled for each night, the first time in several years that a full schedule of attractions has been planned.

Letters were sent out recently to people who have rented grandstand box seats previously. Once the July 1 deadline passes, those box seats will be offered to the general public, advised the board's secretary/treasurer, Tonya Richey.

“We strongly suggest those who got letters and want to again reserve their box seats to follow the instructions given and contact us,” Richey stated.

Vendors thinking about reserving indoor booths or outside areas during the fair also need to make up their minds and contact board member Roy Binkley quickly. Binkley can be reached by calling 812-595-0971. The amount due can be collected after the vendor has set up.

“We need a good idea about reserved spots because we have quite a list of new vendors who would like to come. If we don't hear from you by July 1, we'll be calling someone else to fill your space,” Binkley said.

The Fair Board has scheduled its last business meeting for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28. The meeting will be held at the old Scott County Saddle Club building at the fairgrounds.
