A brief discussion by four members of the Austin City Council on Friday, May 24, was followed by a 3-0-1 vote against allowing a Cincinnati, Ohio, company set up and operate a temporary asphalt plant near the city’s I-65 interchange.

Though their first attempt at rezoning failed last September, a developer and a local property owner have refiled their rezoning petition for property south of West Cherry Street and on South High Street with the Austin Area Plan Commission (AAPC).

The couple who failed to pay for $75 worth of gas at a Scottsburg filling station on May 16 are currently being held at the Scott County Security Center in lieu of bond.
Legal Self Help Center Work Recognition Luncheon hosts Indiana Tax Court Judge Wentworth
On May 16 the Hon. Martha Wentworth who is the Judge of the Indiana Tax Court and also serves as Chair of the statewide Pro Bono Commission joined Judge Moore, a group of local leaders and volunteers in recognizing Patrons and Supporters of the Clark Legal Self Help Center. The luncheon was attended by approximately 75 guests and was held at Cricket’s Café in Sellersburg. It was co-sponsored by Your Community Bank and New Washington State Bank.

A woman who had earlier reportedly been involved in a traffic accident was later found at a local high school covered in blood and in the same wrecked vehicle.
